Overview, Mission & Philosophy
Welcome to The Meadowbrook School! Come discover our school and the difference our elementary education can make for your child. We all know where your child goes to school won't make or break their future. But who they are as a person will.
Nestled on a lovely 16-acre wooded campus in a quiet residential area in Abington Township, The Meadowbrook School is an independent co-ed day school with students from Age 3 through 6th grade.
As an intentionally elementary community, focusing only on ages three to 6th grade, we respect childhood-and the unique opportunities these pivotal years bring. We're not concentrating on high schools, colleges, or careers just yet. Instead, we encourage our students to experiment, learn, and discover, knowing they will be supported and uplifted every step of the way by people who care. Most of all, we want each child to know the joyful exuberance of being a kid.
Where your child goes to school won't determine if they're happy and successful in life. But who they are and how they manage and overcome challenges, think through problems, and confidently assert themselves will. And at Meadowbrook, that's what we're all about.
We are a community – not just a school.
The early years of a child's life form the core of who they become as a thinker, learner, citizen, and most of all, as a human being. At Meadowbrook, we focus on nurturing that human element first and foremost. We know that if our children learn to thoughtfully engage with life, everything else naturally follows.
MISSION + PHILOSOPHY
The Meadowbrook School brings life to learning for elementary-aged children in a nurturing, fun, and collaborative environment.
In our diverse, cohesive community, we prepare our students for their next steps by cultivating intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth. Our interwoven approach to curriculum fosters confident, compassionate, and creative learners.
THE MEADOWBROOK SCHOOL is committed to creating an inclusive and caring school community where every individual is honored, protected, and respected. We believe that multiculturalism and inclusivity are built upon the ideas of grace, courtesy, respect, compassion, empathy, and a commitment to peace and justice. We want children to learn to understand and value multiple perspectives and to appreciate both differences and interconnections. We believe that this understanding is essential in providing a safe and supportive learning environment and in preparing children to become leaders in a multicultural world. With this in mind, THE MEADOWBROOK SCHOOL is committed to welcoming, recruiting, and supporting students, families, faculty, and administrators of different ethnicities, race, cultures, genders, religions, sexual orientations, family structures, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
