Dear Meadowbrook Community,
The faculty and staff at The Meadowbrook School have been working diligently to navigate the waters during the coronavirus pandemic. These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we would like to thank you for doing your part in keeping not only our Meadowbrook families safe and healthy but our larger community as well.
Montgomery County has mandated that we go to a virtual setting from November 23 through December 6. The mandate allows our PS and Pre-K students to remain on campus in an in-person, traditional setting, and our teachers have agreed to continue to teach them on campus. The remaining grades, Kindergarten through 6th grade will go to the virtual learning model beginning November 23. Learning packets, books, and each student's necessary tools for each subject will be collected and prepared for parents to pick up. With the re-launch of MeadowbrookVirtual, we are able to accommodate our students both socially and academically even though our physical campus is unavailable at this time.
MeadowbrookVirtual is our online educational program that allows our students to stay connected and continue their lessons in constructive and creative ways. Daily assignments, activities, required materials, and live class schedules will be emailed daily. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's teacher.
If you are wondering how you can connect to Meadowbrook in other ways, please consider joining our Parents of Meadowbrook (POM) group on Facebook, where both families and our faculty have been sharing helpful tips and resources. Follow our pages on Facebook (The Meadowbrook School), Instagram (themeadowbrookschool) and Twitter (meadowbrooksch). We will continue posting updates and photos and would love to share anything you tag us in during this time.
I know that settling into virtual mode again may present challenges. Between managing your own home and work life and your child’s online education, you may have concerns. Please know that we are here to help and provide stability for your child; we are ready to face these challenges with you. We are a family celebrating 100 years of education together. We look forward to acting as a resource for you to rely on for years to come.
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I look forward to saying hello to all of the students in their virtual meetings this week.
Warmly,Michael J. Reardon
