Giving Opportunities

2012-2013 Wish List

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill

 Tradition Keeper     $750 each trip

Since 1962 the students at the Meadowbrook School have enjoyed an afternoon of ice skating as part of the physical education curriculum. This fine tradition encourages cooperation among the students and serves as an opportunity for our older students to mentor and watch out for the younger students. A gift to cover these costs allows a donor to keep a fifty-year tradition alive.

 Literary Lantern Support     $1,500

The Literary Lantern is a student publication of writing and artwork. The fourth, fifth and six grade student editors gather the submitted stories and design and layout the annual magazine. This provides our aspiring journalists the opportunity to experience the process of publishing a major communication and encourages them to work collaboratively. This publication is made available to the entire Meadowbrook School community and serves as a tool to demonstrate the depth of our curriculum to prospective parents and major donors. One who supports this endeavor plays a role in encouraging students to stretch beyond the classroom to publish a quality work of art.

 Alumni Connector     $3,000

A publication of the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Spirit Magazine is a crucial tool to maintain the connection between Meadowbrook alumni, parents and friends and our school. A bi-annual printed publication serves to strengthen relationships and educate readers about the everyday needs of our school. In an effort to cut costs, the Spirit Magazine was published online for the first time in 2012. While the reviews were phenomenal, the impact would be much greater to be able to mail this to our 800+ alumni, parents (past and present), grandparents and friends. A gift in support of a printed Spirit Magazine would enhance the outreach and increase donations to Meadowbrook.

 Centurion’s Watch     $4,500

The existing security system is in need of upgrades and enhancements to keep up with changing technology. A gift in support of an updated security system would enable a donor to play a vital role in the safety of our students.

 Cornerstone Support     $5,000

As a school that educates the youngest learners, Meadowbrook takes great pride in laying an educational foundation. The cornerstone concept is derived from the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation, important since all other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure. A Meadowbrook education is the first stone in their education and in order to provide our students with the most current materials, we have made a concerted effort to limit textbook usage and rely on copied materials. Sponsorship of the most current materials made possible with the copier machine and its maintenance allows the donor to play a role in the educational development of our students.

The Meadowbrook School Yearbook     $7,000

Every year, the Meadowbrook School publishes a beautifully designed yearbook full of the memories that make our school so special. It is a point of pride to provide not only our graduates with this piece of art, but every member of our community. Yearbook distribution is a treasured moment and everyone looks forward to it. By underwriting the cost of this memento, a sponsor plays an important role in cementing memories for our students.
