POM President's Message

Dear POM,

Fall is here and it seems that after a little more than a month of school behind us, we are in full swing.  The POM Executive Committee is so excited about the great events we have planned for our families this year.  In the Spirit of Funraising, we plan on celebrating fall with our annual free Fall Festival on October 24, 2009 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.  Please plan to attend and bring a relative and friend.  This year we anxiously await the unveiling of the 2nd Annual Haunted House, scarily decorated by Mr. Stephens and Jennifer Angelo.  Look out for sign up sheets in the next few weeks to help us man the moon bounce, crafts, games and food tables.

By now you should have received your POM Calendar/Bookmark.  Also, you can look for our activities online. Other events scheduled during the month of October include The Red Cross Blood Drive on October 22, 2009. In the Spirit of Community Awareness, we offer our parents, faculty, staff and community the opportunity to donate blood.  See Sandy LaPenta for more information.

We will begin our annual Innisbrook wrapping paper sale later this month. Look for packets in your child’s book bag.

We are also excited about our Wine Tasting event coming up in November.

Our annual cookie sale has been moved to December.  We love those COOKIES!!  So for those of you like myself, without a minute to spare, and no time to whip up a batch of cookies; the magic is done for you in the little tub of pre-mixed cookie dough.  They also make wonderful gifts.

Finally, have you ever seen the commercial where the gentleman tells you to send in your jewelry for cash?  I always respond, “Hey, I’ve got some old silver and gold”.  Well, GHT, a gold reseller is visiting Meadowbrook soon to take all that old, unused, and broken jewelry off your hands and to hand you some cash in return. Details & dates will be sent out soon.

If you have any questions about POM, please reach out to any POM Executive Committee Member. Happy School Year!

Sincerely,
Tina Lawson - POM President
