Parents of Meadowbrook, or P.O.M. for short, is the parent body that acts as
a liaison between Meadowbrook and the parent population. P.O.M. raises funds
for the school, organizes activities for our children, keeps parents informed
of upcoming events and activities in a monthly newsletter, runs the snow chain
and coordinates room parents.
All parents are invited to attend monthly meetings.
At these meetings, events are planned, and, on occasion, speakers are invited
to discuss current issues.
P.O.M. sponsors many activities during the school
year. All of these activities are on a volunteer basis. We have sponsored book
fairs, parent galas, carnivals, bingo nights, Spring auctions, Halloween dances,
sock hops.. the list goes on and on and changes from year to year. These events
are chaired by parent volunteers who are always looking for a willing pair
of hands. These programs are a great way to get to know other parents in the
school.
Do you want to get involved? There are many exciting opportunities
to volunteer. All parents are encouraged to participate in the various fundraiser,
FUN-raisers and educational activities that are planned throughout the year.
Do not worry if you are not available during the weekdays! Many of our events
take place on the weekends or during the evenings. There are opportunities
that fit every schedule and interest, just call the POM president for details.
