Community Service is a vital part of The Meadowbrook School. Over the last several years, students, teachers, and parents have been involved in helping people, animals, and the environment. Our students are developing an understanding of the importance of volunteering and helping others. They also learn about the diverse groups of people and organizations that make up our community.
This October begins our twelfth year of supporting the Food Cupboard, a local food bank in Roslyn. We will also continue our long standing tradition of supporting the Soup Kitchen at the Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia as well as newer traditions like the Marine's Toys for Tots. In addition, there will be individual grade community service projects with senior citizens, the SPCA, and others.
A very important school wide project is the annual Red Cross Blood Drive. This year's blood drive will be held in the gym on Thursday, October 22, from 1:30 pm - 7:00 pm. While students play a big role in the success of the blood drive, they can't do what you can do- GIVE BLOOD. Please mark your calendar now and sign up to be a lifesaver. A parent scheduler will be contacting you and you can sign up on Corporation Night, September 24. If you have any concerns or questions about giving blood, please call the American Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543.
Thank you for your continued support of our community service activities.
