Meadowbrook students know the true meaning of “community.” |

|
The sixth grade students worked hard at sorting and folding clothing and toys that Meadowbrook families brought in that Wednesday morning in December. Boxes and bags of new and gently worn baby and children’s clothing and toys were lovingly dropped at the Meadowbrook gym. The sixth graders sorted and folded the clothing and helped pack them into boxes to be taken to the local drop off for Cradles to Crayons. in the Cradles to Crayons.
Cradles to Crayons’ mission is, “To provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen the basic essentials they need to be safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued. We also set a foundation for lasting change through the meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year.”
Janice Kramer, a past parent at Meadowbrook was the connection to this clothing and toy drive and participated by helping the children and driving to the drop off site with all of the items. Mrs. Kramer said, “I would love to thank Mrs. Kirby for giving me the opportunity to work with Meadowbrook students again. I have missed the enthusiasm and spirit that is so special at The Meadowbrook School. The donations from the families were generous, and the students really understand the meaning of community outreach.” Janice Kramer, mom of Mackenzie ‘05
