Week 2

Enchantment Theatre's

Magic of Masks

Enchantment Teaching Artists start the workshop with theatre games to inspire the students to build confidence and work as an ensemble. We then explore exercises which teach acting skills including: energy, eye contact, spatial awareness, teamwork, ensemble rhythm, stage directions, stage movement, improvisational skills and storytelling.  Next, Enchantment Teaching Artists and students work on character development using puppets and masks.  Our puppets and masks are created by the designers we use for Enchantment's professional productions and students love them!  We then introduce choreography and shaping a story.  We include setting, characters, world of the play, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution and moral/lesson.  Using all of the physical theater skills the students have acquired, and with Enchantment Teaching Artists encouraging them, the students create original work to perform for an invited audience.  And all will be Enchanted!
So come on out and join the fun!
