Preschool Program
Welcome!
We look forward to providing your child with a fun and nurturing classroom, which will stimulate their creativity and instill a love of learning. The Three-Year-Old curriculum is a child-centered, developmental program, which provides experiences promoting social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth in a warm, loving, and safe environment.
Year at a Glance:
Themes: All About Me, Family, Community Helpers, Safety, Five Senses, Good Health, Literature, and Holiday & Seasons
Language Arts: Introduction to letter recognition and sounds, Pre-writing activities, literature activities, and class books.
Math: Number recognition, number concepts, shapes, colors, graphing, patterning, sequencing, and comparing & contrasting
Specials:
Art: 1 day a week
Physical Education: 2 days a week
Library: 1 day a week
Music: 2 days a week
Science: 1 day a week
Computers: 1 day a week
World Language: 1 day a week for Spanish

Daily Schedule (Example)
8:00 – 9:00 Children arrive, table-top manipulatives, & free play
9:00 – 9:30 Circle time: Pledge of Allegiance, Calendar, Weather, Counting to 100 Days of School, Color and Shape of the Month, Letter of the Week, and How do you feel today?
9:30 – 12:00 Specials, theme-based activities, art, movement, indoor & outdoor play, games, and snack
12:30 – 1:00 Storytime, Bathroom & wash hands
12:30 – 1:00 Lunch
1:00 – 1:45 Rest
1:45 – 2:15 Children who are not sleeping: books & table toys
2:15 – 3:00 Outdoor or indoor play
Additional Activities:
Show & Tell: Show & Tell will take place every Friday.
Doug the Dog (Class Mascot): Doug will be having weekend visits with each family once throughout the school year. A notebook will be coming home with Doug so you can describe whom he met and what he did during the weekend. The children love to share these experiences with the class. This is also a time for us to get to know each other.
