Creativity comes alive when children are free to express it. Music is a core component of student life at Meadowbrook. We believe each child has innate talent which must be encouraged and nurtured. This is done through a variety of activities including playing instruments, singing, creative movement, and music appreciation.
Every child from age 3 to 6th grade has the opportunity to perform in a musical at different times each year. In addition to musicals, we develop personal talents and music skills through participation in special ensembles and The Meadowbrook Singers – the school’s choral ensemble for 4th through 6th grades. This ensemble performs Winter & Spring Concerts as well special programs for community organizations and events throughout the year. These experiences build confidence and a level of comfort with performing in front of others.
Through our partnership with the Settlement School of Music, piano lessons are available. Private teachers are also available for individual voice, woodwind and brass instrument lessons.
